Lego Star Wars Review Set 8036 Separatist Shuttle
The Star Wars Lego set, Separatist Shuttle, model number 8036 recreates Nute Gunray's Shuttle as seen in The Clone Wars television series episode Mission to Rodia. In this episode Nute Gunray flew to the planet Rodia to recruit the planet's leader and Padme Amidala's old friend Onaconda Farr. Nute hoped to trap Padme as revenge for her role in the Battle Of Naboo, where, as queen, she successfully defended her planet from Separatist Shuttle.
With 259 pieces and with a recommended retail price of .99 this may seem like a small set for the price but the exclusive minfigures go some way towards making up for the vehicle's small size. The five figures include two regular battle droids (both are the new arm version that allows them to hold a gun properly) and one pilot battle droid who is distinguished by having a blue torso piece rather than the regular tan. Nute Gunray appears at last in a Lego set, after a decade of absence and he is a screen accurate representation of his Clone Wars character. The color s and detail on the torso are beautiful and his Neimoidian features and ceremonial headpiece make him instantly recognizable. The final figure is another first, the Rhodian senator Onaconda Farr and again Lego have done a wonderful job with the colors and designs on this figure.
The vehicle itself is fairly small and simple. As a shuttle there are not many weapons or play features that would feature on a starfighter of similar size. Instead there is an opening at the back which converts to a ramp for Nute to exit the vehicle and an opening cockpit for the pilot droid to sit. The legs of the ship lower and raise manually and the creepy spider-look makes for a nice effect.
Overall a small set that will appeal to fans and collectors more than casual fans, but the former will be drawn by the first appearance of a long awaited villain.

Star Wars Toys, Figures and Collectibles - The Latest Releases
If you are a collector of StarWars toys, a parent looking for a perfect gift for your children, or just a Star Wars movie fan who wants to decorate his desk with a cool action figure or statue of your favorite Star Wars character, you might be interested in the most recent or upcoming releases of new Star Wars toys, figures, vehicle or other collectible items.
As an avid collector, I'm constantly looking for new interesting items, so I'd like to share some of my latest discoveries with you.
New Clone Star Wars figures and vehicles by Hasbro
Since the Clone Wars TV series is quite popular among the fans, so are the related Clone Wars toys. So what can we expect in near future?
First of all, there are some really cool new 3 3/4-inch scale vehicle packs (wave 6) scheduled to be released before the end of 2009. They include some really nice pieces like General Grievous Starfighter, AAT Trade Federation Tank, Obi-Wan's Delta 2 Starfighter, Darth Vader's TIE Fighter and others. If you buy them as gifts for your children, they will sure like the special action features, like firing rockets etc.
Later on, in January 2010, there should be a new release of Deluxe 3 3/4-inch scale Star Wars figurines sets (action figure + matching vehicle). You can look forward to Anakin Skywalker Desert Sport Skiff, Clone Commander Cody with BARC Speeder and my favorite Clone Trooper Scout with AT-RT Vehicle, to name just a few.
New LEGO Star Wars Toys
The LEGO construction sets are definitely among the most popular toys so every new release is eagerly awaited by the movie fans and especially by their children. The most recent additions include LEGO 8036 Separatists Shuttle (with 5 really cool mini figures), LEGO 8038 Endor Battle Playset (with opening bunker, walking AT-ST, 12 figures, and more) and LEGO Clone Walker and Assassin Droid Set including bonus figures in each box.
Of course, there are many companies constantly releasing new StarWars figures and toys, so I just picked the ones I find most interesting at the moment. I'm also looking on other types of Star wars merchandise, like lightsabers, blasters, helmets and other replicas, but I think these specific items deserve a separate article, which will hopefully be published very soon.
